Etiquette question: One of my favorite guys in the local dance scene has a thing for cologne. He puts on way too much of it, but hey he likes it and apparently some women do too. Great for them. Unfortunately, his usual cologne make me very nauseous. It's gotten to the point where I'll be in bad shape if I try to dance more than one song with him. He knows it makes me sick, and he didn't wear it while we dated, but now he's back to it. He has another cologne he wore a few times when he knew I'd be around, and, while I think it smells like dish soap, it doesn't make my stomach churn. I get the impression that his thoughts on the issue are that he's going to do what he wants to do and whether or not I (can stand to) dance with him is up to me. Last night I tried to dance with him three times because I haven't been going out much lately - bad idea! I can't see myself ceasing to dance with him completely, since his style of leading feels the most comfortable to me of all the guys in town (aside from the nausea). Can you suggest the best way to turn him down after we've had that first dance so that he won't be offended and we can still dance other nights?

If you really want to keep dancing with him, I'd recommend buying a nose clip like Mark Phelps uses.
Its hard to offend guys and he already knows you don't like his stench. I'd just tell him, "Sorry dude, you smell. I can only handle one song before my eyes start to bleed."
Good luck
